Regularly, BLEU JOUR collaborates with designers and artists to give life to uncommon computers. For this realization, BLEU JOUR and the Toulousian Designer Pierre Cabrera went into partnership.
To this end, in 2019, BLEU JOUR calls on the Designer Pierre Cabrera, for which HI-MACS® has no longer secret for him, to create a free interpretation of Kubb, giving it more shape, a cube no longer square, just UNSQUARE…
Initially, was a Kubb
Born of the collaboration with the Toulousian Designer Pierre Cabrera, whose the creative approach was to offer an interpretation of Kubb by giving it curves and an high tech material, the HI-MACS®, whose the intrinsic qualities enable to interact with the light.

A « Solid Surface » material ; a perfect blend of acrylic, natural minerals and pigments, that can adopt an unlimited number of forms. The smooth surface and not porous of this latest generation of acrylic stone enables aesthetics realizations answering to the highest quality, manufacture, functionality and hygiene requirements, higher in many ways compared to classic materials.
Every element of the cube is cut with a high-pressure water jet of a numerical control machine in order to obtain the 5 sides that composes it. Thermoformed and joined by hand, we obtain a cube with an irreproachable finish that reveal the geometrical aspect glorified by the HI-MACS® material.
A Name
This one come from the evolution of Kubb, the emblematic model of BLEU JOUR with its square base, toward a more complex geometry (Unsquare) inspired by a book which, in its deepest sense, gives us access to knowledge just like a computer would do through the intermediary of data.
Pierre CABRERA
« Give free rein to material expression, use the emotion that it gives me, find the pivotal point between the good-looking and the function, that is the philosophy that animates my work. At the same time designer, creator and craftsman, I imagine new shapes, new concepts and I am looking for materials that will enhance my work. My creations are the fruit of two universe : crafts and industry, two worlds obviously opposed, that I like to combine in order to stretch the creative limits ».
